What to do when one email address is shared by multiple accounts.
Who this is for
This tutorial is for situations where one email address is shared by multiple accounts.
What you need to know
When an account is created, the software checks whether the email address is already in use and prevents a new account from being created with the same email address.
However, because of historical data and imports from other systems, some accounts may still share the same email address. This is common among family members or when one person has multiple accounts.
The only requirement is that the password for each account must be different.
The REG ID is the unique identifier for each account. If your account was imported from PlayFootball Australia, this is the FFA number issued by PlayFootball Australia.
You can still log in using the email address
Because each account has its own password, you can still log in using the shared email address. For example, the email address john@example.com may be shared by John and Emma. John and Emma can log in to their own accounts separately as long as their passwords are different.
If both the email address and the password are the same for multiple accounts
If this happens, it can cause problems. After logging in, the system may open any of the accounts that share the same email address and password. The easiest way to fix this is to reset the password to a different one for the account you want to use, or log in with your REG ID instead of your email address.
You can use your REG ID to log in instead of your email address
As indicated on the login page, you can use your REG ID to log in instead of your email address. This solves the problem of multiple accounts sharing the same email address and password.
If your account was imported from PlayFootball Australia, the REG ID is the FFA number issued by PlayFootball Australia.
If you don't know or have forgotten your REG ID, you can contact the association to get it. If you are already in a team, your team manager or coach can see your REG ID in the mobile app and website portal.
